Modbus/TCP PN communication

Hello,

I'm trying to make communication between a 315-2 PN/DP and MSA Gasgard XL.

I want to read out 40010, and 40020 from GasGard, it works sometimes, but most of time the connection does'nt  build up. 

The parameters i using are:

  • Start address: 9
  • Lenght: 10
  • Recv_Time: 5s
  • Conn_Time: 5S

I did playing with Recv and Conn Time and it effected the rate of succesful connections, but it still drops too often.

Also i tried to read only 9 and 19, but then it didn't read 19.

Anyone knows how could i optimize the connection?

TIA Portal HMI Button Not working

I am hoping someone can help me.  

I have a siemens system in our facility that was built by a 3rd party.  It arrived in less than stellar fashion, and doesn't work as it should.   After 10 months of being here and not getting any resolve, I am going after it myself to tackle what should be relatively mundane issues to fix.  That said, I have an AB background, and have worked with Automation direct, eaton, and fanuc controllers.  I am new to siemens.   I have made my way around the ladder pretty well, but I am having some issues with the HMI.  Specifically, the vendor programmed in manual controls for our system, but they do not all work.  I checked the HMI tags; they appear to match the plc tags as I expect, but when I press the HMI buttons on the screen, in online mode, I cannot see the tags become energized in the ladder.   The corresponding manual controls subsequently do not work.  The manual controls that do work, I can see the bits energize when I press the HMI buttons.  

Is there anything specifically I should be looking at that I am overlooking possibly?  Typically, the HMI is an easy part of a project, but I am a bit dumbfounded by my inability to figure out something so seemingly simple.

Different projects in a single touch panel SIEMENS TP

My problem is the following. I have a client that has 7 different machines with touch panels SIEMENS TP277. A touch panel for each machine. The machines are different and therefore the projects that have to be loaded from WINCC Flexible to each panel are different. That is, 7 different projects.

My client wants to have a single spare screen, not 7. Is there any way that he has a single spare physical panel and without needing WINCC Flexible can he load the same one of the 7 projects? Can not you record inside the panel and then load 1 of the 7 you need? Or via USB memory?

WinCC Flexible: How to edit recipes?

Regards! I have a new challenge to face.

I have a client that needs to edit from a computer the recipes that WinCC Flexible screens emit.

I have noticed that the recipes are stored in several files of extension * .dat * .rdf and * .vdf.

How can I read and edit them from any PC without the need for Siemens products?

KTP400 password dialog

Hi All

 

I have a issue with password dialogs on a KTP400 (6AV2 123-2DB03-0AX0) I am sure I am missing something somewhere but unsure as to what, what happens is whenever I press a pushbutton on the screen I get the password dialog, but there is authorisation is blank in security, also the event on the pushbutton still takes place without any password being entered, if the dialog is closed  and the button is pressed again , the dialog does not appear, any thoughts?

Siemes CPU216 2BD23-0XBD Issue

Hi experts, having issues with this Siemens CPU216  with either hardware or software.  When I input value in VW70 via HMI, there is no effect observed ie nothing happens. in fact, sometimes, the whole machine cycle is disrupted at times without any proper explanation. I have to reload the programme to CPU to get to work. Value input in VW 70  value is the last cycle of machine where CV from an encoder is compared with PV and output is given accordingly.

In addition,  yesterday when i input value of 500 to move to VW16, the whole machine process got disrupted and the machine  now just stops after couple of steps. I then re-input the value of 1800 (which was the original value) but to no effect. I could not observe the values in chart status either. Whats going on? experts please help. TIA HMI Runtime Advanced v14

Hi masters!

I've been using Siemens Tia portal v14 and this error gives me an unknown reason to prevent my HMI(which desktop pc runtime) to communicate to my PLC(which I can upload, download, monitor). Does anyone experience this?

Siemens Mobile HMI program signature KTP900

I am using TIA Portal V14 to program a Siemens Mobile HMI (KTP900 Mobile).

I would like to pull up a program 'signature' from the HMI that would allow me to verify that the code in the HMI is the correct version.  This would help prevent an accidental overwrite of old code, resulting in a single Mobile HMI that has differing code from several others that are also in use.

The closest comparison would be a Safety Signature from a Safety PLC.  However, I just want to use a file checksum or similar variable that I can put on my screen.

Any ideas?  I appreciate it.

Hello everybody.
I need to learn PLC programming.
I already have some experience with Ladder language and PLCSIM so now I need a real PLC to do more practice.

I was going to buy the following unit:
6ES7211-1BE31-0XB0

It has 6 Di, 4 DO (Relay) and 2 AI, that's more than enough for me to do some practice.

Do you think it would be a good idea to buy it? Or maybe this PLC doesn't have some important component or device needed to work properly? (my company will give me the software).

High Speed Counter Problem

Hi Forum

High speed counter on Siemens CPU226 is playing up. CV reading from it does not match to PV and keeps increasing and increasing. Eg PV set at 1800 but CV just keep increasing past this point. I cant clearly see if it jumps above the 1800 point so does not  register as having reached the value.

 

Is this a problem with PLC or the Encoder?

Right then, I have finally managed to get hold of the software required to program the CP527, unfortunately the book is as usual for a S5 book bloomin' hopeless - so have any of you older gentlemen out there used this package / know where there might be a more informative manual - I have the COROS Config Software COMGRAPH Planning guide ( C79000-G8576 - C190) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Fellow Members,

I had a major breakdown in the PLC Control system due to sudden power outage in the plant.

To cut a long story short we had to re-upload the program, the program was successfully reloaded but currently we have no communication between OP30C and CP 5431 ( 6GK1543-1AA01) - we are also in the midst of a major upgrade to the line including the control system.

We have encountered this issue a month ago and we have thoroughly investigated the issue and according to an experienced Siemens engineer we are missing the Comgraph V.2.32 or A2.32 to configure the communication processor with the OP30C and S5.

If you could be iso kind to upload a link ( or send me a pm for Email )  for the Comgraph V.2.32 or A2.32 ( if you still have it ), I will buy them a big round of beer or even better offer you money beerchug.gifbeerchug.gifbeerchug.gifbeerchug.gifbeerchug.gif
