In Portal 15, I use breakpoints to debug my Structure Text code, the breaks work fine, but the values of the variables keep disappearing even when I slide the horizontal or vertical slidebars. How do I keep them from disappearing?
Hi everyone. Recently I get a S7-1214C ac/dc/rly plc, whenever i connect ac power all the indicating LED i.e 'Run/Stop , Error & Maint' start to blink. I can't upload or download any program. I have communicated my tp1500 with Ab 1400 B series..the proble is I have setted setpoint of timer is 30min Accum...so I read my timer pv in hmi in that time ##will shows in hmi in that case I cross checked my program its twr running properly.

A TCP connection to a printer, opened via TCON, prefixes two spurious bytes to every transmission. The typical prefix is FE 04 (hex); FE 0D is also seen.
Also, the carriage return and line feed characters that end the transmission (per rule set by the receiving device) are not included in the transmission.
The string sent by the PLC is correct, as seen in the monitor.
The pattern of prefixed bytes and lost terminator bytes is consistent--it is not random.
It would seem that the configuration of the connection in the PLC is wrong. We have not been able to find anything wrong.
Any suggestions?

I'm looking for some advice or opinions on a control loop that I have been asked to look at and possibly modify.
The present system has been there for 10+ years and as far as I am aware it's never successfully worked.
My employer has the current set up which is shown in the attached drawing.
Using raw water, an acid is added which is then circulated round a contact loop, after the loop, an Alkali is added.
The expected end result of the loop is to achieve a specific alkali Ph.
The loop has 2 Ph probes which are selectable via SACDA and 2 dosing pumps.
The acid dosing pump is controlled by a PID loop where the SP is entered in the SCADA and the PV is measured from the selected Ph probe.
The Alkali dosing pump is purely proportional to flow.
In the PID block, the derivative is switched off.
One probe is just after the acid dose and the 2nd is just after the Alkali dose.
My employer wants to be able to control the acid dose by monitoring the Ph probe which is just after the Alkali dose and is also over 10 minutes process time after the acid dose.
I've been told that the system was designed to work this way, even though they have had no successes in running it this way.
My wee head can't process how I can control an acid dose while monitoring the after an Alkali has been added, the Alkali will raise the value by 5.
There is also only one set of PID parameters.
Looking at it, firstly I'd assume that each probe would require its own PID parameters.
I have had a play with it, but can't seem to get the loop to react to change and then recover in an acceptable time scale.
Could someone give me an opinion on whether the system could operate from the Alkali probe with some PID tweaking?

Has anybody setup opc to extract data from an s7 1500. I have a DB file setup with the data stored in 1422.0. the ip is 192.168.1.135 which I can ping but when I try to use kepwae opc I get a bad vartype error

I am new to Siemens and have been using plc which size programs in Steps, and Siemens using memory to size. Is the re an estimate of converting steps to memeory? If i was doing this on the other brand there standalone plc with 16K steps would be big enough. the Siemens S7 1500 Cpu 1511 has 150KB program memory how does this compare.

Hi. Is it possible set an I/O Field, in input or input/output mode, to not pop up the on-screen input keypad?
Most of the time the keypad is useful, but in this case I want the machine operator to use function keys instead to increment/decrement motor RPM values during runtime.
I'm using an S7-1200 PLC & KTP400 Basic HMI.

I have 24 Siemens Siprotec relay(7sj62) which i want to communicate with Scadapack 330E (Schneider) on 103 Protocol.
but every time I try to communicate it shows Slave device is failed to communicate. trying to communicating via serial (RS-485).
What should i do..?? or do i need to communicate it with Siemens PLC..?? If so which PLC should use..??

I've Industrial computer containing applicom PCI Board 32K which connecting to S7-300 PLC. The hard disk of the computer has fault and then I replaced it with a new one and then restored the system image of drive (C) to the new one correctly but the applicom PCI Board has lost the communication with the PLC !..
I've executed the applicom application restore correctly but when I try to initialize it, its failed to initialize !..

Help me please to resume the communication with PLC !..
