TI505 / CTC 2500 / Maple HMI 550H -- Working together

These 3 items have worked together for years.  I wanted to update an HMI screen with some additional bit lamps, so I uploaded the existing program and saved it.  I was unable to decompile and edit the program I uploaded, so I started to modify the program I thought was the most recent.  I'm able to get the screens to download to the HMI, but I can not get past an "Always Responsed Error....Delay".

I deleted all of the screens and downloaded a blank program to ensure none of my addresses were causing the issue.  Still have the same error.

Things I know:  1. It worked together for years.  2. In the HMI drop down for PLC type, there is not a CTC 2500 option.  3. When I download the .eob that I uploaded, the screens do not load correctly and do not function.

Any help is much appreciated.

Can any one help me

Hello,

I am a late beginner with plc, sorry for that.

I have a siemens s7 1200, 1212c Ac/DC/Relay type.I started a simple program and wired the plc using a breadboard,: input, mini bush button and output led light. The wiring seems good, because i see input led light branding when l push the push button but it does not initiate the output. But within the program by forcing the input it works. what went wrong?

VFD Analog output to LOGO!

Hullo neighbors,

We've got a LOGO! 0BA8 configured to use I8 as an analog input,
and the goal is to read the current operating speed of an ABB ACS310 VFD.
(we want our PLC to be able to react to any changes in speed from the VFD)

Problem is, nobody can figure out how to hook up the analog output from the VFD to the analog input on the PLC.

Have tried going from AO -> I8 and have also tried adding a connection from the LOGO! input neutral back to the GND... nothing works.
Attached is the terminal diagram for both devices with our poor attempts labeled.
Any insights?

Dear, Folks Greetings of the day

I am got very confused in "State Machine" Based Logic design, now am doing Index table based vision inspection system it having 6axis servo, now the major issue is I need to do the better logic with easy error traceability technique. So am chose state machine based system design but the error handling of system is very difficult for me. Any Process automation experts give me the proper solution for this issue or suggest any good book for this state machine error handling concept. Am tried it in web search but I can't get suitable answer

Help needed with MM430

Hi everyone,

Now I used Micromaster 430 controlled by a PLC. I set parameters as follows:

P0010: 0

P0100: 0

P0700: 2 (using BOP-2)

P0701: 1 (start)

P0702:12

Terminal 3+4: Connected to Analog output of the PLC

Terminal 5: connected to 24V via a relay which is controlled by the PLC

DIP switch1 on (analog input1 with 0-20mA)

When I turn on the relay to power to terminal 5, the inverter runs about 5 seconds, then stop automatically while terminal 5 is still powered.

There are no fault and no alarm. I checked the parameter P0947 and P2110 with value 0.

Especially, when I set P0700 = 1 (using Start button in Panel), the inverter runs well without stop automatically.

Please give me some solutions.

Speed Dec Issue & Siemens PLC info

Hi Everyone, I want to know some information regarding PLC which is installed in my machine.

SImens PLC: ET200S,       CPU: IM151-7

Please guide me which software with exact version is used for uploading and downloading the program from this PLC and I am facing some issue as the operator said that when he press the speed Decrement button it decreases the speed by one point (for example from 100 to 99,98,97...) and he need to press the button many times in order to stop the machine. As he said that previously  when he  press the button the speed decreased by 10 points (say from 100 to 90,80,70....). So my question is is it possible that this could happen itself or what might me the issue ??

Thanks

S7-1200 with SCADA driver S7A not working

Hello!
I am trying to connect my PLC with SCADA. I am using S7-1200 1212C CPU (RELAY outputs). My SCADA system is iFIX 5.8 with driver S7A. I am trying to establish connection via GPRS router (TCP/IP). Port being used is 102 (default by S7A driver). In my company we have private network, SIM card in GPRS router gets static IP (set by RADIUS server)  which is 10.247.XXX.XXX. My PLC has IP 192.168.0.10 set in Project. I am not sure what am I doing wrong. How to correctly set IP address in PLC to communicate in private network via GPRS router with static IP? I already enabled TCP port 102 in my router but I am not sure to which IP should I enable it because I am not sure if IP address set in PLC is correct. Should I use some communication blocks in program? I also enabled PUT/GET function (see attached pictures). Please help. Thanks in advance! :)

S7A driver shows same values for different inputs in data monitor

Hello!
I am beginner in PLC world, also in SIEMENS PLCs. I managed communication over private network. Now I have a problem that I get same values on all inputs. Picture below shows my configuration of driver and data monitor. First picture shows values when input I0.0 is in state 0. Second picture shows values when input I0.0 is in state 1. Physically on PLC only input I0.0 is forced to 1, input I0.1 stays 0. But data monitor shows both inputs as state 1. Where is problem? Is problem in PLC program, TIA portal? I saw some guys using DataBlocks but I am not skilled enough to use it. Third picture shows simple PLC program on my PLC. Please help. Thanks in advance!

CP 343-1

Dear all,

I have a machine with CPU317F-2 PN/DP and i need to monitor 3 data blocks on a Mitsubishi HMI GS2110.

The manifacturer of the machine send personnel, who installed and configured CP 343-1 ethernet module with our

network settings.

The HMI is using S7-300/400 OP communication driver to communicate with the CP module.

HMI is pinging the cp module </=1ms, so the connection is strong and stable. No com errors both sides.

But we were unable to monior any of the bits or word in the data blocks. Not even I, Q or M.

The Siemens guy is claiming that all the data should be available for monitoring on the HMI.

He hookup his laptop to the CP and in his Step7 everything is visible, but according to HMI manual,

when OP communication is used, there should be PLC side monitoring permission for those devices.

The Siemens guy did not know anything about that, so he left saying, that from his side everything works.

We need to mnitor DB1101, DB 1103 and DB1104.

Can anyone help me check the CP config and add those permission if needed. I have Step 7 and the machine software, but not much familiar with Siemens. I work with Mitsubishi.

Thank you all in advance and best regards.

CP340 pinout configuration

I've got a small project to change a CP340 connection from a MDS radio to a Moxa 3170.

I have tried to connect directly with a serial ported Modscan to no avail. The station is 95, 4800, 8n1, ASCII

Do I need to also connect DTR/CTS etc.? I have a simple null modem cable made using the standard 2,3, & 5. The manual says this is workable, but also shows the DTR and others talking?

Thanks for forum!

Portal Comm Issues

I have an 840Dsl with a built in 317F-3 PN/DP CPU. I cannot get my laptop to communicate plugging into the Profinet. I can get it to work with my laptop that has only Step 7, but not with my laptop that has TIA Portal 14 with S7 5.5.4. Is there something I need to do with the new software to enable communication?

I also get the error in the attached picture when I boot up. Not sure if this is causing the issue.

Thanks for any help!

Siemens S7-1215c Wonderware addressing

$

Hi all,

We have a Flocculant plant which uses S7-1215c plcs. I am creating a HMI/SCADA interface using Wonderware Intouch to communicate with the plant over the network. We have a few control valves we want to control from the HMI in the control room. For some reason I can't figure out what the Item name for an element on the tag is. The valve data block is an instance of a functional block, which links to a global data block, where the (automatic_mode, manual_mode) is located and this is where the tag on the valve plc references too according to the spec sheets we received. The problem is this Global block is used for 4 different valves, 2 dosing pumps and a transfer pump, and according to the spec sheet, the reference tag for all the different instruments is the same.

How do I distinguish between the different instruments in Wonderware? I am able to connect to the Global manual/automatic_mode and the connection is healthy. But surely I can't use this item name for all the different instruments, because we want to be able to control the instruments individually.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

My first project

Hi,

This is my first project using a  PLC, so far I only own the software but plan to buy the LOGO soon.

1. I want the machine to feed the metal strip metal

2. If strip metal is picked up by the sensor, the machine continues, if the material buckles and does not reach the sensor I want the machine to stop, doing so by operating an air switch,  that that would be connected to the existing air operated clutch.

3. I would like the LEGO to count the parts.

4. I want a reset button

5. I want to add a flashing light or buzzer if the machine stops  due to proximity sensor not being activated.

6.  Eventually I would like to be able to view the counter over Wifi or on my mobile.

Would you give me some feed back on my program so far ?

I would like some tips on  how to improve the program.

Is the Wifi/ mobile idea feasible ?

Hello!

I am using S7-1200 PLC 1212C AC/DC with configured Modbus TCP Server. I can already read/write Inputs/Outputs (Coils) and Memory Words. However I'd like to read/write Memory BITS. Is it possible? If so, how? What addresses should I use in TIA portal? And which function codes on client side?

Thanks in advance!

faulted processor

Hi I'm a bit new to Siemens, we;re an Allen Bradley plant...until now. we just got a brand new used press and it has a seimens controller on it. The press doesn't seem to have any manual functions so I as asked to move the cylinder, but I can't until I clear this fault. it won't do anything.

I'm told I'm working with an older processor, s7 300?I don't really know seimens that well.

I saved the diagnostics buffer as a text file and pasted it below. in case that helps solve my problem. I'm thinking it's just having trouble communicating with remote IO, but I'm not sure. I might be trying to communicate to a robot that used to be there that no longer is.
