Siemens IPC477D Touchscreen Driver Needed

I have reloaded a IPC477D with Windows 7 64-bit and everything is working but since we do not have the original installation disk or ISO, we have no way to load the touchscreen driver.

I am looking for any information that would lead me to the OEM for the touchscreen or if anyone has access to the IPC installation DVD, all we need is the touchscreen driver directory which should have both the 32-bit and 64-bit version.

Siemens tech support indicated we must repurchase a installation DVD for $350.00 and it would ship from the fatherland and be here in about a week.

Thanks in advance.

S7-1200 ‘Authorised Connection’ Password

Hi guys

I could really do with some advice here

I visited a site earlier, having some problems with a system and I need to go online with the PLC to check the logic and find out what the issue is for a particular function of two separate machines.

I can find the IP address of the 1200 PLC with no issues, but as soon as I click ‘show’ or ‘detect’  a pop up window appears.

‘Authorised Connection

a password is needed to obtain HMI or diagnostic access to a protected device’

which of course I understand a company protecting their code. The issue now is that the company has gone bust and there is no way of contacting anyone that may have known the password.

So short of ripping out the perfectly good 1200 PLC’s (two systems) and replacing them with new logic (considerable more time required)

I am at a loss, does anyone know a work around for this?

Much appreciated

Hi All

I am struggling to get a TON in TIA v15 to work properly (s7_1212). I have tried reading what i can but still dont understand why what i have is not working.

I have attached a screen shot.

I am trying to achieve a bit that is active for 1 scan cycle and resets every second. Coil1 is just staying active however and not resetting the timer.

What i have written works in Connected Components Workbench and other plc software i have used. What am i doing wrong?
Thank you in advance.

Simatic S5-155U BASPA low signal

$

Hi everyone,

I am encountering some problems with a Simatic S5 system comprised of CPU 946/947, CP525, CP 527 and Analog/Digital I/O cards. The BASPA low voltage signal is being triggered randomly causing the CPU to suspend RUN Mode ( RUN Led goes Off and BASP Led goes On) and then go back to RUN resuming operation without ever going to Stop Mode. It's annoying. I found it was the BASPA signal because I programmed the Central Rack Power supply to trigger the fault Relay in case of a Low Voltage fault. I thought the BASPA low signal was output only by the Power supply (6ES5955-3LF12) but I read somewhere that BASPA low signal is also output by the CPU. I changed the CPU 946/947 for new ones but the problem persists. My question is: Who triggers the BASPA low signal? Is it the power supplies (in both Central & Expansion Racks) or the CPs or some other module?

Help will be appreciated,

How to solve problem with MMC

$

Hi all I need your helps to solve the problem with my Simatic MMC (micro memory card). I am utilizing a Simatic CPU 314C-2DP (with firmware V1.0). According to the informations I read in Siemens's website, this type of CPU must be used with a micro memory card (MMC) in order to be able to save user programme and data. So I bought a MMC of type 6ES7953-8LG11-0AA0. I have formatted this MMC as it is instructed in the Manual of CPU31xC. I plugged this MMC into CPU314C-2DP and tried to connect this CPU with a PC installed Step V5.3 but PC have always informed that it couldn't communicate with PLC. But when I removed the MMC out of of PLC's slot and reset the PLC, it could easily communicate with PC and in the dianostig buffer I saw the message " Illegal memory submodule:replace submodule and reset memory". So, is this MMC not proper for the CPU314C-2DP? In my opinion I don't think this MMC is not permitted for CPU314C because Siemens didn't say that in its manual and catalog. But I haven't found yet any solution for this kind of problem. Please instruct me by your experiences in using CPU314C and MMC. Thanks

Hi,

New to S7 but have a lot of experience with TIA Portal on HMI side from my automotive days. Now I'm working with Siemens PLC using TIA Portal v14 and 15 and struggling to understand the benefits of using DBs instead of traditional PLC tags. Can someone point me to a resource that's good for bring Allen Bradley guys over to the dark side of Siemens?

Thanks

Help with TIA + S7-300 + IFM AC2504

$

Hi,

I recently scavenged a S7-300 from an old machine. The processor has a CP343-2P ASi interface module. Together with it came about 50 meters of ASi cable and eight IFM AC2504 (link below).

So, I have gotten a license for TIA Portal from my local school and is in the process of trying to figure out how to talk to the IO slaves. Wiring is complete. I have to wait for a programming cable to arrive in the mail, so I figured I could use the time to ask for help.

Do anyone have an example project using these type of devices? Or otherwise could offer help in how to talk to it. I really cant find much information at all online about how to use ASi and even less when it comes to third party ASi stuff.

//Kind regards.

Overlapping memory areas in TIA Portal

$

I have a fair amount of experience with Simatic Manager, but I'm new to TIA Portal. This one has me stymied after a couple hours of hunting (this time). This is an issue we've encountered before with various machines programmed in Portal, but didn't have a chance to chase it down. Here's a simple and clear example.

This machine is from France and was programmed with Portal v14. The alarm bits are all contained in a global data block DB2. The alarm bits are individually SET in FC2 when conditions are right for each alarm. Each bit has its own -(S)- coil, which (as far as we can tell) is the only place it's written...EXCEPT...the first network in FC2 uses MOVE instructions to write "0" to DB2.DBD0 and DB2.DBD4 any time a "reset" pushbutton is pushed (there are 2). The problem we have is that all of the ways we've tried accessing the cross-reference for the program only show the individual bits (DBX), not the double words (DBD). If the MOVE instructions had been placed in another FB/FC/OB somewhere, we would have had a major devil of a time finding them. They just happened to be at the top of the alarm FC. Here's a screenshot of the MOVE instructions with the x-ref information shown for DB2:

5cf815721f1fd_PortalDBx-ref01.thumb.PNG.

In the Simatic Manager world, the Cross Reference will show where the different registers are used, whether as DBX, DBB, DBW, or DBD, but it seems to me that the Cross Reference in Portal only shows actual symbols, not addresses. Since there is no symbol defined for the DBD addresses (and I don't there CAN be, since they're defined as DBX bit addresses), they don't show in the x-ref. I opened the Cross-Reference window (which is different from the bottom-half cross-reference information tab above) and clicked on "Show overlapping access" on its toolbar, which opened another sub-window...which is blank and doesn't show the overlapping access to the DBD word (maybe because the MOVE instructions used absolute addresses instead of non-existent symbols?):

5cf815733c783_PortalDBx-ref02.thumb.PNG.

I came across a blog post about issues in TIA portal v13. One of the entries mentions a global address overview, which is tantalizingly close to the "show usage" tab of the old Simatic Manager x-ref but I can't find any way to get to it. This probably wouldn't help us track down a DBx.DBDy overlap, but would be useful for finding unused "M" memory:

5cf8167faa555_PortalDBx-ref03.PNG.4d2c87

Another "interesting" piece of information is how the HMI alarms are configured. They use trigger tags that are word-level, not double-level. In other words, alarm #1's trigger address is DB2.DBX1.0, which is part of Trigger tag Alarme_mot_0, which points to DB2.DBW0. The tag databases and x-refs for the PLC and HMI appear to be distinct and separate entities, contrary to the marketing presentation we attended for Portal which said that everything was in one place and easy to find. That's definitely not our experience so far.

5cf8230e31993_PortalDBx-ref04.thumb.PNG.

I found an article on Siemens' website about prepending "AT" to the beginning of a tag name to have overlapping tags but that only applies to the declaration areas of FBs and FCs. This is a global DB. And I'm not sure it would even work anyway, though I suspect it would IF the MOVE instructions used the tag names instead of the addresses.

Can anyone help me figure out a way to x-ref the DBD usage and to find the global address overview?

I needed a shift register for S7 Classic and after a lot of searching I wrote my own in SCL.

First time writing SCL Code - so would someone like to test ("to destruction" )the attached SCL Code for me?

Hopefully the comments make sense and it does seem to do what I want.

The zip file contains a S7 libary of the block (FB207) as well as the SCL Code and a text document

Thanks in advance
